After No Child Left Behind ended, President Obama signed into law a new education policy for grades K-12 called the Every Student Succeeds Act.

Every state educational agency had to submit ESSA plans for approval to the Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos, and she was less than happy about what she saw. And, at last year’s meeting of the Council of Chief State School Officers — attended by all the nation’s top school officials — she told them so.

On Monday, she again spoke at that meeting, and Alyson Klein from Education Week joined The Show to talk about her message this time around.
