Phoenix And Tucson Slip In 'Best Places To Live' Ranking

This week, U.S. News & World Report released its rankings of Best Places to Live, and Phoenix and Tucson made the list.

Devon Thorsby is a real estate editor there. According to Thorsby, the factors they take into consideration are affordability, the job market, quality of life, education, access to health care and desirability.

With Maricopa County being one of — if not the fastest — growing counties in the country, you'd expect Phoenix to be in the top 10. But Thorsby says that’s not what happened.

It’s not unusual for rankings to change, and Thorsby says both cities slipped in the rankings of job market and quality of life. However, he says these are minor shifts due to other metro areas seeing a more significant improvement.
