#RedForEd One Year Later: Arizona State Sen. Paul Boyer

One year ago this week, the wave of teachers taking action to demand higher pay reached its peak in Arizona.

Tens of thousands of Arizona teachers, dressed in red, left their classrooms and descended on the state capitol, in what turned out to be a weeklong strike.

This week, The Show is hearing some perspectives on that event, and what the impact has been since, starting back at the Capitol with Sen. Paul Boyer.

Last year, while serving in the House, he served as chairman of that chamber’s Education Committee. He's also a teacher at a Phoenix charter school.

The Show recently met with the Phoenix Republican and asked what goes through his mind when he thinks about the events of last year and what’s happened since.
