Tuesday night, at the historic Orpheum Theatre in downtown Phoenix, students from throughout the Maricopa County Community College District will be named “artists of promise.”
Their work, spanning a wide array of mediums including creative writing, fashion design, music composition, theater design, visual arts and dance, will be on display.
Kyara Nycole has only been formally training as a dancer since she started college at Estrella Mountain Community College, but she won first place in the solo performance category in the lead-up to the Tuesday event.
She joined The Show to talk about the opportunity, and why dance comes so naturally to her.
