Hacienda HealthCare Gets State License After Arizona Passes Bill Requiring It

An incapacitated woman gave birth at a Phoenix Hacienda HealthCare facility late last year after being raped. Recently, Arizona law changed to require intermediate care facilities, like the one Hacienda operates, to be licensed by the state.

Now, Hacienda has received a license from the Arizona Department of Health to operate the care facility.

It had negotiated an agreement with the state last month after nearly closing its doors, putting additional oversight on the facility.

This comes after Hacienda has assured that it has been taking stock of policies and procedures after the inciting incident.

The new law requiring a state license for all intermediate care facilities includes mandates for patient care, caregiver education and record-keeping.
