The Sedona Forum is an annual event where politicians, national security officials and think tankers have off-the record conversations about high stakes global issues.

But at least one session this year will be broadcast to the world.

Fabiana Rosales de Guaidó will appear, the wife of Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaidó. The Trump administration, along with dozens of other countries, recognizes him as the country’s interim leader.

Rosales will be interviewed by journalist Elise Labott in Sedona on Saturday.

“This developed quite recently,” Luke Knittig, director of communications for the McCain Institute, which puts on The Sedona Forum. “We learned in the last few days from multiple people associated with the Sedona Forum that she was available and quite simply leapt at the opportunity.”

Venezuela has been embroiled in crisis. This week Juan Guaidó, with U.S. backing, urged military officials to abandon leader Nicolás Maduro. By the end of the week, however, Guaidó admitted he did not have enough military support to wrest power from Maduro.

Rosales' interview will be streamed on the  McCain Institute’s YouTube and Facebook pages at 8:15 a.m. on Saturday.
