Report: Hundreds Of Women Are Dying From Pregnancy-Related Causes, Most Preventable

Nearly 700 women in the U.S. die every year due to pregnancy-related causes, even though most of those deaths could be prevented.

Those are among the findings of a new Vital Signs report from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

To learn more, The Show spoke to Dr. Wanda Barfield, director of the Division of Reproductive Health at the CDC. She’s also an assistant surgeon general in the U.S. Public Health Service.
