Arizona Gas Prices Leveling Off

The price at the pump continues to be significantly higher than this time last year.

The average price of unleaded gasoline in Arizona is $3.16 a gallon. That’s up a penny from last week.

Michelle Donati with AAA Arizona said prices could continue to increase over the summer.

“We’re not out of the woods yet," Donati said. "If you look at the West Coast, prices remain very volatile. If ongoing planned refinery maintenance continues throughout the region, we will continue to see price volatility and shrinking gas stock.”

Donati said historically if prices climb in early May, they don’t usually continue doing so into the later parts of the month.
