Phoenix New Times Investigation Finds Problems With Some Eco-Friendly Phoenix Homes

A group of homeowners is claiming their eco-friendly homes are not so friendly.

The houses are considered "Zero Energy Ready," which, according to the U.S. Energy Department, makes them at least 40 to 50 percent more energy efficient than a typical new home. But, the homeowners argue, their houses are not meeting that goal.

Elizabeth Whitman is a staff writer for Phoenix New Times — she’s spoken with a number of the homeowners and written about this. She joined The Show to talk about what she found.
