Lemonade Is Now Arizona's Official State Drink

Lemonade is now the official state drink of Arizona. After a long legislative battle, Gov. Doug Ducey signed the measure, which was originally proposed by a Gilbert teenager.

State senators rejected the proposal in April. Some lawmakers wanted a different drink like margaritas, while others wanted to focus on passing a state budget.

The legislature is about 20 days behind schedule.

But lemonade won out and joins a host of other state emblems including copper, saguaro flowers and bola ties.
