A project to widen the Loop 101 Price Freeway in the southeast Valley will begin Friday.
The project will add a lane north and south on a 6.5-mile stretch of the Loop 101 between Baseline Road and the Loop 202 near Mesa, Tempe and Chandler.
The southbound stretch between the US 60 and Warner Road will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Tuesday to establish work zones.
The $76 million project is expected to be complete by fall 2020.
