Health Care Leader Sees Wins, Losses In Proposed Arizona Budget

The Arizona House Appropriations Committee is scheduled to start debating the package of bills that make up the proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

Ann-Marie Alameddin, president and CEO of the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association, joined The Show to talk about how the budget handles health care concerns.

The budget lifts a freeze on KidsCare, Arizona's children's health insurance program, and adds funds for rural broadband and rural prenatal hospital equipment. But the proposal falls short, Alameddin says, on addressing the state's doctor shortage.
