Arizona House Majority Leader Warren Petersen on Friday said that his chamber is putting budget debate on hold until state senators resolve their disagreements and pass bills that have been languishing.
He said there’s no point moving forward as fellow party members in the upper chamber stall to get hearings for their legislation, such as Sen. Paul Boyer’s bill for sex abuse victims.
“The largest issue, it’s no secret, is that we’re all trying to come up with a statute of limitations bill that everybody can come on board with. The members want progress and hopefully we can find that sweet spot where everybody can agree and we can get it passed," Petersen said.
Petersen also said lawmakers will be working Saturday and Monday of the holiday weekend.
