Stan Lee's Business Partner Accused Of Embezzlement, Theft

Phoenix police say a man accused of embezzling money from the late comic book legend Stan Lee has been arrested.

Keya Morgan was taken into custody Saturday.

Media reports say Morgan was a one-time business manager for Lee and allegedly pocketed more than than $260,000 from autograph signing sessions Lee did in May 2018. Reports also say Morgan allegedly took Lee from his Hollywood Hills home to a Beverly Hills condominium where he could manipulate Lee more easily.

Morgan faces felony charges filed earlier this month in Los Angeles. Those charges include theft, embezzlement, forgery or fraud against an elder adult and false imprisonment of an elder adult.

In a request for a restraining order last year, Lee's daughter said that Morgan had tried to keep family and friends from seeing Lee and that he tried to take control of Lee's money and business affairs.

Lee died in November.
