Ducey Orders Flags At Half Mast To Honor Virginia Beach Victims

Gov. Doug Ducey has ordered flags at state office buildings to be flown at half mast until Tuesday evening to honor the victims of a deadly shooting at a municipal office building in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

The announcement from the Governor’s Office came just before 2 p.m. Saturday.

"Our hearts are with the victims, their families and all those affected in the Virginia Beach shooting," Ducey said in a statement.

Thus far there are 12 confirmed dead, including the shooter, and four people wounded from the attack late Friday afternoon. Among the dead were several city employees, including one who had served for more than 40 years.
