A former University of Arizona assistant basketball coach was sentenced Thursday for his role in the college basketball corruption scandal.
Emanuel “Book” Richardson pleaded guilty earlier this year to accepting $20,000 in bribes from an aspiring business manager of pro-athletes. He received three months in prison and two years of probation.
Three other assistant coaches at other major programs were also charged.
UA said in a letter to the court that Richardson damaged the school’s reputation and his actions could result in NCAA sanctions and penalties.
