Teacher pay was at the heart of the #RedForEd Movement in 2018, which led to teacher walkouts and action by Gov. Doug Ducey with his 20X2020 plan.
But increasing overall school funding was another part of the movement's goal, and decreasing class sizes is seen as a way of improving the education that students are getting. But we’re also in the middle of a teacher shortage — making it difficult to make those class sizes smaller.
To talk more about that, The Show reached out to Joanna Allhands, digital opinions editor for The Arizona Republic and AZCentral. She’s been covering these issues as part of her Moving the Needle series.
