Arizona Snowbowl Announces $60 Million Expansion Plan

The Arizona Snowbowl ski resort has announced plans for a $60 million expansion.

Plans for the Flagstaff-area resort include more chairlifts, ski trails and nighttime skiing. Manager J.R. Murray said the resort also plans to expand its summer activities.

“We, just like many ski areas on Forest Service land, are looking at more year-round activities, and that’s the mountain biking and zipline and alpine slide and ropes courses and things like that. And we know that there’s a demand for it,” Murray said. “We’re looking at diversifying the business and also utilizing all of our infrastructure and assets on a year-round basis.”

Murray said they plan to submit the master plan this fall, and then will decide which projects to begin first.
