On Saturday, KJZZ received two national journalism awards from the Public Radio News Directors Incorporated (PRNDI).
KJZZ took first place in the best multimedia presentation category for “ Below the Rim: Life Inside the Grand Canyon.” Reporter Stina Sieg and digital editor Jackie Hai traveled to northern Arizona to explore the lives of the people — and animals — who work and play below the rim of the Grand Canyon. The digital piece was produced by Hai and Sky Schaudt.
The Show co-host Lauren Gilger recieved first place in the interivew category for “ The Conversation Is Changing Around Miscarriage And Infant Loss As More Women Tell Their Stories Online.” Gilger talked with Arizona mom Kalila Martinez about Martinez’s experience with loss.
