U.S. Supreme Court Blocks Census Citizenship Question, For Now

The U.S. Supreme Court has blocked the citizenship question from the 2020 census, at least for now. The majority said that it "cannot ignore the disconnect between the decision made and the explanation given" by the Trump administration.

The decision could have huge political consequences, but there are other cases related to this issue working their way through the courts.

To help sort out this ruling and what it means, The Show spoke with Kelly Percival, counsel with the Brennan Center’s Democracy Program.
