Gov. Doug Ducey and Gov. Claudia Pavlovich took part in the last day of the Arizona-Mexico Commission’s 60th birthday celebration Friday.
Getting Congress to approve the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement was on the tip of both governors’ tongues throughout the day.
During a forum, the states’ top executives were asked if the U.S. and Mexico are moving in the right direction on border security.
Pavlovich said security is key, but threats to close the border and hit Mexico with tariffs create uncertainty for companies.
Ducey told reporters after the forum that Arizona will continue to be as good of a place for business owners as it possibly can.
“Things are positive in the state of Arizona. They’re even more positive when there is certainty and reliability. So I advocate for those things and I will continue to do that,” he said.”
Ducey also said that uncertainty is a part of business leadership.
