It appears the "third time's a charm" for the city of Flagstaff in its quest to hire a new city manager.
Out of more than 50 candidates and three rounds of searches, Flagstaff has offered the role to Greg Clifton.
He replaces Barbara Goodrich, who was temporarily holding the role after Josh Copley resigned in February last year.
Clifton has spent the past 25 years in municipal roles in Western Colorado as a city attorney and town manager. His most recent position was serving as town manager for Vail, Colorado.
He was awarded Manager of the Year by the Colorado City and County Manager Association while serving in the ski town of Telluride.
His appointment ends a long running search. The City of Flagstaff was forced to conduct three searches after its initial offer of $200,000 a year salary was rejected by a prior candidate.
