Seventeen percent of Americans between the ages of 18 and 24 in big cities, including Phoenix, are unemployed — that’s more than 2 million people. In Phoenix, that figure is nearly 25%.
According to the new research from the Metropolitan Policy Program at the Brookings Institution, the majority of these young adults have a high school diploma or less.
