Trump Administration Looking To Ease Regulations Around Translation Services In Health Care System

How can you get quality health care when you don’t understand what the doctor is telling you? That’s the question the Center of Federal Regulations is trying to solve, in part by requiring some health care organizations to provide non-English speaking patients free translation services.

But now,  Kaiser Health News reports the Trump administration wants to ease those regulations. The move would also get rid of the requirement to provide instructions to patients on how they can report discrimination within the health care system.

The Show sat down with Aliria Muñoz Rascón with the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation at ASU to understand how translation in health care works.
