President Of Kalil Bottling Company George Kalil Dies At 81

Longtime Arizona businessman George Kalil has died. He was president of Kalil Bottling Company, a company founded 70 years ago by his father and grandfather. 

Kalil bottling was founded in 1948 in downtown Tucson. Today, it operates out of four cities across the southwest including Tucson and Phoenix.

The company is known for its slogan, “From the good guys at Kalil.”

The company has more than 700 employees and produces about 10 million cases of soda a year.

George Kalil was also known as an avid University of Arizona basketball fan. According to media reports, he missed only two games over a 35-year span.

He contributed $1 million to UA for the renovation of McKale Center and also donated to Tucson charities.

Kalil was 81.
