The University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson has appointed a new dean.
Michael Abecassis will begin his term as the ninth dean of the college in early November.
Dr. Abecassis comes to UA from Northwestern University, where he served as professor of Surgery and Microbiology-Immunology, chief of the Division of Organ Transplantation and founding director of the Comprehensive Transplant Center.
He specializes in transplantation, and molecular and translational medicine.
