For several years, the lines have seemingly blurred between reporting and opinion. Examples of this are prevalent every night on cable news networks and online publications. That, additionally, has affected how elected officials and candidates for office approach comments, interviews and debates.
Republican consultant Nathan Sproul wrote about that in the Arizona Republic, even using the term “politainment” to indicate the merging of politics and entertainment.
