Arizona Housing Demand Up, Listings Down

The housing market in Arizona remains strong, particularly for sales of homes in the low $200,000 price point.

Tina Tamboer, senior housing analyst with the real estate market analytics site the Cromford Report in Mesa, said areas in the Valley seeing the best appreciation rates are along employment center corridors and the major freeways.

“Whenever you’ve got a price point where you have buyers reselling a home within a six-month period for, often times significantly more than they bought it for, you’re going to see a larger than average appreciation in those areas,” she said.

Tamboer added there has been a drop in new listings by 11% in the last couple of months, mostly due to occupant satisfaction in their homes.
