Excessive Heat Warning In Effect For Much Of The State

An excessive heat warning is in place Tuesday for much of central and southwestern Arizona. High temperatures between 110 and 112 degrees are expected in the Valley.

Paul Iniguez is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. He said even the high country is expected to be hot and dry.

"Above normal temperatures are going to be strewn across the entire state," he said. "So when we’re looking at some of the higher country, especially if you go up toward like Flagstaff, their high temperatures the next couple of days are going to be well into the 80s, which is pretty warm for those folks.”

Iniguez said a few isolated mountain thunderstorms could hit Northern Arizona, but for the most part, the state will be very dry.
