The Tempe City Council will hold a public hearing on Thursday about the use of bicycles and scooters.
The proposed changes include repealing and amending parts of the city code.
The changes, if approved, would go into effect 30 days after Thursday’s final hearing.
The council is set to consider rules like when a bike or scooter can operate on the sidewalk, as well as a helmet requirement for riders under age 18, and age restrictions when it comes to operating a scooter or other light motor vehicles.
