The Maricopa County Department of Public Health is reporting a measles exposure.
A competitor at the World Hip Hop Dance Competition at the Arizona Grand tested positive for measles and may have exposed others to the disease from Aug. 9-11.
This person also traveled through Sky Harbor Terminal 2 on Aug. 11 between 5 and 10 p.m.
Dr. Rebecca Sunenshine with the Health Department said to be on the lookout for symptoms including a “high fever, watery eyes, a cough, and a runny nose, followed by a rash several days later.”
“You’re infectious with measles four days before you get a rash, so as soon as somebody who was in one of those areas gets a fever, they want to notify their health care provider, let them know they might have been exposed to measles, and be careful not to expose anybody in the waiting room when they’re seen,” she said.
Sunenshine said anybody who hasn’t developed symptoms by Sept. 2 is most likely in the clear.
