Arizona Explores Expanded Role For Non-Lawyer Professionals In Legal Process

Arizona is exploring ways to expand access to justice with the help of non-lawyers.

There are already certified professionals who can offer limited legal assistance, but now, a task force organized by the Arizona Supreme Court is looking to redefine what legal document preparers can do for folks heading to court.

And Arizona is not alone. Other western states have made similar efforts, though Arizona has gone farther than any other before it so far.

Bloomberg correspondent Brenna Goth has reported on this, and The Show spoke with her more about it.
