The University of Arizona is making it easier for transfer students from Pima Community College to pursue bachelor’s degrees in STEM fields. That’s thanks in part to a grant from the National Science Foundation.
The $4.8 million grant will provide scholarships to nearly 100 students over five years.
Eligible students are those pursuing associate degrees at Pima Community College and planning to finish their Bachelor of Science degrees at UA.
The grant will support UA students majoring in fields such as the biological sciences, geosciences and engineering. More than 2,600 students are enrolled in science-related associate programs at the community college.
