United Airlines Moving 14 Boeing 737 MAX Jets To Phoenix Goodyear Airport

United Airlines will be moving 14 of its troubled Boeing 737 MAX jets to the Phoenix Goodyear Airport. The planes are being moved from Houston and Los Angeles.

The planes will be parked at the airport west of Phoenix as part of United’s short term storage plans.

The 737 MAX fleet was grounded in March after two fatal crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia killed 346 people within five months.

Reuters reports the airline says it will be more efficient to have all its 737 Max planes in one location and easier to prepare the aircraft once the Federal Aviation Administration approves the software and pilot training that Boeing is working on.

The FAA has issued a permit allowing the airline to fly the planes from one place to another.

Southwest Airlines the world’s largest 737 MAX operator, has 34 of the grounded aircraft stored at a facility in California.

Airlines that own the MAX have canceled thousands of flights since the planes were grounded,.
