Phoenix Fire Department Helping Hurricane Dorian Efforts In Florida

The Phoenix Fire Department is sending a 16-member team to help Florida deal with Hurricane Dorian, which is expected to make landfall this weekend.

“This is what we call a mission-ready package, and they are going on a water-specific mission. They are taking six boats with them, and they will be primarily doing search and rescue in the water," said Capt. Kenny Overton.

The firefighters are planning for a two-week deployment that may be extended up to 21 days.
