Monsoon Storms Likely Tonight, Possible Cooldown For Phoenix

The National Weather Service is forecasting a 30% chance of rain and thunderstorms in the Phoenix area tonight.

Meteorologist Bianca Hernandez says the monsoon might lead to cooler temperatures for the rest of the week.

“We can expect our main weather hazards to be dust, lightning, gusty winds, and potentially some isolated hail too,” Hernandez said. “Temperatures at least in the Phoenix area will hover around the 105-degree range, so we’re not looking at any significant heat impacts.”

In the High Country, afternoon thunderstorms are possible for the rest of the week.
