Detained ASU Students Fuel Anxiety In Chinese American Community

Recently,  nine Chinese students at Arizona State University were returning to the U.S. for the new school year when they were detained by customs officers at Los Angeles International Airport and sent back to China.

This comes at a time when tensions between the U.S. and China are intensifying, and suspicion towards China is spreading. Just this summer,  NPR reported that U.S. intelligence agencies are encouraging universities to monitor students and visiting scholars from institutions affiliated with the Chinese state.

How are Chinese Americans responding to this? For more on that perspective, The Show got a hold of Charlie Woo, CEO of toy manufacturer Megatoys and public policy chairman of Committee 100, a national organization of leading Chinese Americans.
