A state lawmaker who said black and Hispanic communities “ are better armed than the police officers who are supposed to be controlling them" clarified those comments.

Republican Rep. Jay Lawrence of Scottsdale told the Arizona Republic that his comments at an August forum on gun control were unfair and too broad. Lawrence said his quote was in reference to gangs who are better armed than police.

This is the third time this year that an elected lawmaker has said disparaging remarks about Latinos or African Americans. Will there be a fourth?

To talk about this potential trend, The Show reached out to Lisa Urias, president and CEO of Urias Communications, a multicultural marketing and public relations firm.
