More than a half dozen cases of illnesses related to vaping have been reported in Arizona.

Last week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced an outbreak of lung-related illness associated with the use of e-cigarette or vaping products. At the time, there were 450 cases in 33 states, however Arizona wasn’t one of them. That changed this week.

There are now seven cases where vaping is suspected of causing severe respiratory problems in Arizona, and those numbers will likely go up according to the Arizona Department of Health Services, which sent a health alert to doctors statewide to help them properly diagnose the illness.

To understand what's going on, The Show reached out to Dr. Cara Christ, the director of the Arizona Department of Health Services.
