The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors has named the seven-member citizen committee tasked with evaluating candidates to replace Bill Montgomery as county attorney.
Applications for the interim job are due on Sept. 18, and the committee will make its recommendations to the board on Oct. 1.
Whatever the committee says, the supervisors will make the final choice.
Carmen Heredia, chief of Arizona operations at community health organization Valle del Sol, is among those who will consider Montgomery’s potential successor. She sat down with The Show to talk about what this diverse group is looking for in a candidate.
