A state agency is getting federal money to enhance training for investigators who look into crimes against vulnerable adults.
Arizona Adult Protective Services investigates allegations of abuse, exploitation and neglect, and now the program will get a boost from the Department of Health and Human Services.
On Thursday, the agency announced it was awarded a federal grant worth more than $1.2 million for training.
Economic Security Director Michael Trailor said the money would allow investigators to better evaluate risk to clients, enhance their interviewing skills and help create quality case plans for victims.
