Gov. Doug Ducey Lobbies Congress To Ratify USMCA

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey was in Washington, D.C. Monday, lobbying U.S. congressional members to ratify the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement.

Now that Mexico’s legislature has ratified the newly revised North American trade agreement, Ducey joined the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to urge Congress to support the USMCA.

"To say it frankly, America and Arizona’s businesses are beyond ready to ratify the USMCA," Ducey said. "Trade with Mexico and Canada is vital to Arizona’s economy and it supports more than 228,000 jobs."

Ducey also pointed out that Mexico is Arizona’s number one trading partner and the USMCA has the support of Mexico’s own U.S. ambassador, as well as Arizona U.S. Sens. Kyrsten Sinema and Martha McSally.

Sabrina Rodriguez, trade reporter for Politico, joined The Show to talk more about what the Trump administration is trying to do to court Democrats’ support of the agreement.
