Phoenix Area Wakes Up To Rain, Flash Floods

Lots of Arizonans woke up to the sound of sheets of rain Monday morning.

A flash flood warning was in effect for Maricopa and Gila counties until 12:15 Monday afternoon. And much of central and southern Arizona was under a flood watch as well.

So far, a powerful storm dumped more than 2 inches of rain on Apache Junction and Fountain Hills. Mesa Fire rescued one motorist whose SUV was overcome by flood waters.

Meteorologist Ken Waters with the National Weather Service in Phoenix joined The Show to talk about the storm, its dangers and what to expect the rest of the week.
