$75 Million Valley Metro Grant Will Go To Tempe Streetcar Project

The federal government has awarded a $75 million grant to Valley Metro. The money will go toward the Tempe Streetcar project, according to the Federal Transit Administration.

Tempe Streetcar will stretch three miles with 14 stations connecting downtown Tempe, ASU and Rio Salado Parkway.

It also will link riders to Valley Metro’s existing light rail system serving Phoenix, Mesa and Sky Harbor.

In total, the project will cost nearly $200 million.
