A reward is out to find whoever who dumped toxic materials in a wildlife water basin.
The water catchment located about 15 miles east of Flagstaff and used by wildlife was contaminated with fuel around Sept. 15.
The motivation is still unclear, but a $3,500 reward is out to find the person or people responsible.
The basin is designed to provide water for wildlife when natural resources are unavailable.
Don McDowell with the Arizona Deer Association has posted a $1,000 reward on his own behalf.
“I can’t wrap my head around how somebody could be so thoughtless and so demoralized. These guys are intellectually naked to do this," McDowell said. McDowell added that he’s confident they will find who did this.
Officials are hoping someone saw suspicious behavior or caught the act with a game camera. Any information should be provided to the Arizona Game and Fish Department.
