A $9,000 dollar contract ended up costing far more for two Scottsdale transportation officials.
Transportation Director Paul Basha resigned, and Transit Programs Manager Lisa Johnson was fired. Johnson’s husband had been given a contract to monitor the city’s trolley drivers for things like announcing stops to passengers and wearing required uniforms. A city investigation found the contract was awarded in violation of the city’s conflict of interest policies.
