A leader in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints clarified church doctrine towards transgender Latter-day Saints.
Apostle Dallin Oaks, a former Utah Supreme Court Justice, told an assembly of high-level church officials Wednesday that God defined humans by their biological sex at birth. His comments come as the church tries to interpret doctrine as it relates to modern sexual orientation and gender.
