Pima County Gets $1 Million Grant For Jail Transition Program

Pima County now has more money to fund its jail transition program. The county is trying to lower its jail population and help people with behavioral health problems.

The $1 million grant from the Department of Justice will fund services for up to 60 days after an inmate is released.

Inmates who may be at risk of returning to jail will be able to get job training, GED preparation, housing and transportation.
