RimaAnn Nelson, who has served as the director of the Phoenix VA Health Care System for three years, is leaving her position to become the director of the Veterans Integrated Service Network in Cincinnati.
While the hospital searches for her replacement, the associate director for patient care, Alyshia Smith, will serve as interim director.
Nelson’s 2016 appointment as director was met with controversy; her previous post at a VA clinic in the Philippines had the lowest satisfaction ratings of any hospital in the VA system.
