When newly named Director David Shinn takes over the state Department of Corrections later this month, he’ll be leading an agency facing a number of challenges.
Inadequate funding, high employee turnover and low morale are few of the areas Shinn will have to address.
The Show discussed some of these challenges and some potential solutions with Terry Stewart, a former director of the Arizona Department of Corrections, and Kevin Kempf, a former director of the Idaho Department of Corrections and the executive director of the Association of State Correctional Administrators.
